"It’s not the service I give, it’s the smile I get…" says Farzy Kamali, of why she loves being in the business of helping people with their real estate needs.
An experienced REALTOR®, Farzy has listed and sold residential and commercial real estate in both North and South Carolina since 1997. Over the years, she has worked for large franchise brokerages and owned her own firm, but most recently she chose to join the Lake Norman Realty team because of its reputation both in the community and among its associates.
'When I came to Lake Norman Realty, they met me with open arms, and immediately these ladies became like my sister and my daughter," says Farzy. "I felt at home, and that was the end of the story – I see why this company was named the "Best Place to Work!" three years in a row!"
This award-winning REALTOR® and multi-million dollar producer is also a grandmother, mother, wife and friend. Farzy is many things to many people, but her story started far away, and the winding path that led to her life today was filled with adversities.
Born in Teheran, the capital city of Iran, Farzy married and had two children. She worked first at a bank as the head of its accounting department, and later took positions both in the Iranian Navy as head of budget affairs and last as the head of accounting at a large manufacturing company.
But in 1979, Iran’s government was in transition. "Life was not the way it used to be for my family, and I was especially concerned for my children’s future," Farzy says. For that reason they decided to leave Iran.
"We came to the United States in 1984, which was a miracle, and God was with us."
With very little knowledge of the English language, Farzy worked tirelessly to achieve her professional goals. "I wasn’t discouraged. Instead, it made me work harder and faster to achieve my goals. My 20 years of professional experience helped me. With the grace of God and the help of my church, I became an American citizen in March 1994. I am proud to call myself an American!"
The obstacles she encountered have filled her with a passion for her profession. Her genuine care and concern for her clients is built of the empathy she developed from those experiences.
Farzy has two grown children, her daughter, Kathy, now a registered nurse, and her son, Pasha, an MBA and an executive at a large corporation. When she speaks of her grandchildren, there is a sparkle in Farzy’s eyes. This is a woman who knows what’s important in life.
"I can honestly say my dreams have come true," Farzy says.
