If you ask Jo what makes her a good Realtor®, she will probably tell you it’s all about “joy.” Joy in the morning to wake up to a new day, joy to know she will be helping someone professionally or personally that afternoon, and joy to bring comfort to the many animals and organizations she supports.
Jo is an animal lover first, and founder of the nonprofit Pawsavers, which cares for animals in need. She’s found joy in both her work with Pawsavers as well as in volunteering at local animal shelters, soup kitchens and nursing homes. Jo always finds something good to say to those who are overlooked or in need.
Indeed, there is no “woe is me” in this three-time cancer survivor. Her can-do attitude accounts for her past successes in several fields including management, college instruction, running a casino school, and lobbying legislators.
A licensed real estate broker since 1987, Jo began her career in upstate New York, and later moved to Charlotte and the Lake Norman region in 1995. Despite knowing no one in North Carolina, Jo woke up one morning and decided l994 was the last winter she would get frostbitten toes while inspecting a basement with a buyer, a sentiment many of her now clients from New England also share!
A successful 15-year stint representing custom homebuilders in Davidson’s River Run community followed, making Jo one of Lake Norman’s foremost experts in custom building construction.
