Tom is a Shriner and a member of Broad Street United Methodist Church and Gideons International, where he serves as Gideon Speaker and Scripture Chairman. He has also served as the President of the North Iredell unit of the American Cancer Society and as a board member for the YMCA and the American Red Cross.
As an active Freemason and Gideon, Tom continues to serve his community through service and outreach. “When someone thinks of me, my hope is that they think of a good friend upon whom they can rely – a person who won’t turn away when life brings bad experiences and when they need help.”
In appreciation of these efforts, Tom has received the prestigious Key to the City of Statesville, an honor usually reserved for distinguished visitors to the city.
Professionally, Tom has been awarded the e-Pro and the GREEN designations by the National Association of Realtors®. He is part of a special community of highly-skilled and continuously trained professionals who provide innovative online-based real estate services and has attained a comprehensive understanding of environmental concerns and trends.
Prior to his real estate career, Tom worked in manufacturing management for 29 years. There, he was recipient of the ABWA “Boss of the Year Award” and the Chamber of Commerce’s “Human Resource Manager of the Year Award,” as well as other professional awards and recognitions throughout his tenure.
