Clay Venable has called the Charlotte/Lake Norman area home since 1985. He grew up in Winston Salem, NC and relocated to Charlotte nineteen years ago to further his education. Clay attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Business. Although he has served as a professional commercial pilot since college, Clay has always had a passion for real estate, originally obtaining his real estate license in 1994. Clay also holds a Broker’s license and has also completed appraisal courses and worked pro bono with a licensed appraiser in the field. Prior to becoming an airline pilot, Clay worked as an air ambulance pilot for Carolina’s Medical Center for eight years. Although he originally pursued real estate for personal education and property investment opportunities, Clay knew early on that his goal was at some point to be involved with a successful real estate firm. Clay and his wife Marie, who owns and operates her own computer software business, make their home on Lake Norman and enjoy everything living at the lake has to offer. Both are avid golfers and active members of River Run and Cowens Ford Country Clubs.
